Rowing Canada Aviron held its annual U23 Development Camp at Shawnigan Lake, BC from February 22nd – 27th, followed by two days of racing at the Elk Lake Spring Regatta (February 28th – March 1st).
Highlights included on-water training alongside the Victoria Training Center athletes, which included 2008 Olympic Gold Medalists (M8+) Malcolm Howard and Andrew Byrnes, anthropometric and power testing, and presentations from the following:

The four U23 athletes from University of California – Berkeley had a great race in the Open Men’s 4- and came a close second to the Victoria Training Center Senior Men. The UVic men, which included U23 Camp athlete Josh Morris, won the men’s 8+ race ahead of the U23 entry and UBC (which included U23 camp athlete Gordon Clark).
